Ankle Boots wishlist...

So it's almost back-to-school season and so I'm looking for 'every day' boots for the fall/winter season. You know the deal, something comfy, with a small heel that looks really nice to dress up any casual outfit. So i take a look on the Topshop website to see if I can find a pair for my wish list...but I can't narrow it down to one pair! Oh Topshop- why can't you spontaneously give me a voucher for unlimited free products?

A Designer Disney Story at Harrods

Although this summer hasn't even seemed to start yet with the amount of rainstorms I've been caught in, I feel like it's going to go super fast and before we know it we're going to be right back to the cold months of winter again! So I've been trying to think of things to look forward to this winter...you know potential ski trips, new cosy cute coats etc? When I read on Vogue something VERY exciting to look forward to this Christmas!

Obviously for most of us, Christmas is the thing we look forward to most about winter- time off school/holiday, get to see the family...GET PRESENTS...and that generally lovely atmosphere and joyous mood the whole world seems to adopt for the build up to the 25th of December. One of the things I love most is how everything gets decorated with lights and winter wonderland themed scenes. Perhaps the most famous example of this in London is the Harrods Store windows which are always decorated exquisitely, well this year Harrods have something extra special for us in store!

Harrods is collaborating with Disney this winter to create a fairytale story with a luxury edge; some of the top high-fashion designers like Elie Saab, Valentino, Versace and Oscar de la Renta are creating original dresses inspired by a disney princess to decorate the iconic store windows from November until the end of the Christmas season. I absolutely cannot wait to see this!!

Chanel's Versailles Girls

So what has styling genius Karl Lagerfeld been up to recently? Well in my eyes perhaps one of his greatest inspirational creations yet! This may he previewed the pre-spring/summer '13 show in Versailles with a mesmerising collection which is a fusion of beauty and feminine elegance with a slight punk rock edge. Vogue published some gorgeous photos for us all to admire!....

The Prime Primer...

This January I took a short trip to New York, whilst browsing in SAKS I was intrigued by the Laura Mercier stall as I'd heard that they were really great for make-up and that they do the best primer. So I splashed out $30-something on it to give it a try myself. Well, I wish I hadn't!

The sales assistant promised me it was a great product which would keep my make-up on all day, and that it's not oily at all and good for my skin etc etc. It does feel silky smooth on my skin, but it didn't hydrate it or moisturise it. And I noticed that it did not help my make-up 'stick' on my face at all.

About two weeks after I bought it, every time I squeezed some of the primer out the bottle it was really watery...it was half water half primer. I tried shaking the bottle....still watery....shook it more and more and more and still watery! It's useless! I don't know if there primer is always like this, or if I just got a faulty one but it's no use at all and a total waste of money.

In search of a cheaper option for a primer that may work at least a little better I tried out the Fix & Perfect Rimmel primer. This product is fantastic, it's much cheaper and it feels great on your skin, moisturising but not oily, and it keeps the make up on well too. It is a bargain beauty product for sure!

The new Chanel girl...

“In order to be irreplaceacle, one must always be different.”- Coco Chanel

Well creative director Karl Lagerfeld has definetly chosen different as the newest face of the Boy Chanel handbag collection with model and musician Alice Dellal. She's not your typical soft and classic Chanel woman, but she's a successful model with a striking and capturing look and a whole lot of attitude. Apparently she Karl put her in cream Chanel frills making her look more feminine than ever, I'm excited to see how this hybrid look will be and I can't wait for the campaign images to be released in March!!

I loved Alice Dellal in the H&M holiday campaigns, she has such a strong connection with the camera and looks fabulous!

Dress up your jumpers

I don't know where you all are right now, but here in the UK it's FREEZING COLD!  I mean the kind of cold where the moment you step out the door all your toes freeze into one big ice block. So at the moment I'm pretty much living in big warm jumpers, walking around in big bulky jumpers can get a little boring which is why I like to invest in interesting jewelry like big necklaces to dress it up. I'm waiting for one of the best times of year to come...(Christmas sales!!!!) where I'm going to stock up with a whole bunch of new finds, so I'll publish everything that i get. But in ther mean-time here are some interesting bits I like to use to dress up my winter-warms....top tip: don't just by the mass-produced mainstream items from highstreet retailers- don't get me wrong I love some of the jewelry in Zara, Topshop etc etc, but I do like being the only one in a crowd with a particular item so try looking in individual boutiques and fairs. You can discover really special individual items.

I love this white lepard print scarf, it's so warm and lookes great over a plain jumper!

This beautiful little cross is made of Murano glass, its stunning over plain black.

This string of golden coloured oval beads is really effective over plain jumpers.

I love the detail on this little silver leaf!

This chain over beads is a bigger necklace and looks really good over a plain jumper, especially browns or darker colours.

I love this necklace it is so powerful and effective, it's a mimick of the feathers on an eagle.

Vintage waistcoat

I love this little vintage waistcoat I found last spring in Milan, it looks so effective with denim, black, or white trousers and shorts and can be worn as a waistcoat over other garments or alone as a top. Look out for special and extrodinary pieces like this, vintage can be cheaper- and you won't catch everyone on the highstreet wearing the same thing as you!! Vintage is a growing trend at the moment, it's so chic it can dress up any outfit :)

Versace's growth plans; accessibility for the mass market with an H&M collaboration and a new childrens line.

So everythings finally going uphill for Versace as they have announced that their profits were up about 9% to over £250 million in 2010 so the company is finally overcoming their debt from the ninties and regaining their high statused-image as well as a bunch of new collections as they reach out to the mass market consumers with a high-street collaboration with H&M and the news of their decision to relaunch a luxury kidswear line for the first time since 2004 which means a lucky lot of under 12's will soon too be able to dress in the elaborate and high-fashion stylings of Italian fashion house, Versace.

The new childrenswear collection has been described by CEO, Gian Giacomo Ferraris, to be "a high-end, glamorous and colourful collection in line with the brand’s essence, with a touch of rock ’n’ roll”. I for one am very excited to see this young collection, and I'm very intrigued to see how the effects of this new line and the high-street collaboration with H&M for Versace as a company. How will this effect their profits and their brand identity and reputation? Will these two new collections be a profitable success? And will they increase positive brand awareness or cheapen Versace's image?
